Meet our Vision Therapy Graduate: Alexandra

Updated: Aug 3

Initial Concerns:

  • Difficulty tracking

  • Eye fatigue

  • Poor reading comprehension

  • Difficulty focusing

  • Letter reversals.

Weeks of Therapy: 18 weeks

How are they doing now:

Alexandra's parents noticed her struggles with reading and concentration from an early age. Despite her efforts, she found it difficult to follow along in class, often losing her place or misreading words due to poor tracking and focusing abilities. Letter reversals further compounded her difficulties, making it hard to decipher words and sentences correctly. As a result, Alexandra's reading comprehension suffered, affecting her performance in school and diminishing her confidence.

Eye fatigue was another significant challenge for Alexandra. Spending extended periods reading or engaging in visual tasks made her tired and strained. It was clear that Alexandra needed specialized intervention to address her vision-related issues and unlock her full potential.

Enter vision therapy—a tailored program designed to target the underlying causes of visual processing difficulties. Alexandra embarked on this journey with determination, eager to overcome the obstacles that had held her back for so long. With the guidance of her vision therapists, she began a series of exercises and activities to strengthen her visual skills and improve her overall visual processing abilities.

The first few weeks of vision therapy were challenging as Alexandra adapted to the new exercises and techniques. However, with perseverance and support from her therapists and family, she began to notice gradual improvements. Her ability to track moving objects became more precise, and she could focus longer without fatigue. As her visual skills improved, so did her reading comprehension, and letter reversals became a thing of the past.

By the end of the 18-week vision therapy program, Alexandra had undergone a remarkable transformation. Her once-fuzzy text was now clear and crisp, and she could read with ease and confidence. The strain and fatigue that had plagued her were replaced by a sense of clarity and vitality, allowing her to engage in her studies and activities fully.

For Alexandra, vision therapy was more than just a treatment—it was a lifeline that restored her confidence and reignited her love for learning. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of seeking help when faced with challenges. With the right support and intervention, individuals like Alexandra can overcome obstacles and thrive in all aspects of life.
