Our Most Frequently Asked Question: Do You Take My Vision Insurance?

The Short Answer: No.

But let us explain why...

Vision insurance plans are often marketed as a way to save money (Check out VSPs Ad below!), but in reality, they function more like discount plans that limit the quality and scope of care you receive. According to a recent article from the LA Times, many insurance plans dictate what services can be provided and the level of care you can receive, often prioritizing cost-saving measures over comprehensive, high-quality care.

At Vision & Learning Center, we believe in providing the best possible care tailored to your child's needs, without the restrictions imposed by insurance companies. We don’t cut corners or reduce the quality of our services to fit within insurance guidelines. Instead, we offer a thorough and individualized experience that addresses not just eye health but also critical aspects like eye teaming, focusing, tracking, and visual processing—areas overlooked in standard insurance-covered exams.

By choosing us, you're investing in a higher level of care that goes beyond a basic discount plan, and you still have the flexibility to seek reimbursement using the detailed receipt we provide after your visit. We believe that your child's vision is too important to be limited by insurance, and we’re here to provide the comprehensive care they truly deserve.

PLUS... We are almost always LESS EXPENSIVE than using your benefits at another office.
Here is the TRUTH...
If you do have an insurance plan, we can provide you with a fee slip to submit to your vision plan for a reimbursement check, the typical reimbursement rates are as follows:

-
Eye Exam: $50-$75
-
Single Vision Lenses: $30-$40
-
Frames: $70-$80

TOTAL of $150 to $195
These amounts can vary based on your specific plan, so it's always recommended to check your individual plan details to confirm the exact reimbursement rates.

That makes your total out-of-pocket cost $105-150, compared to $235* USING YOUR PLAN.

*$439 Total Cost - Annual Plan Cost ($204) = $235
